There are daily chores, therapy, clinical groups, life skills groups, free time, exercise, and recreation. In the evenings, the residents participate in outside events, the local young people’s recovery community, 12-Step meetings, and fun group activities. While this is a step in the right direction, again, for New Life House residents, this model is generally not sufficient. We focus on developing life skills, guidance, and peer support and offer relapse prevention strategies. This facility helps young people develop good life skills and transition into independent living while providing a strong mental health component delivered by a clinical team. Residents are also provided structure while learning these aspects of living.

This program provides parents the support to stay involved in the recovery process and embark the family in a healing path (something that seemed impossible in the midst of addiction). As our son actively works the program, we, parents, are given the tools and education to repair and foster healthy family dynamics and strive for a joyful life. We saw our son mature, we matured and learned a new way of life by setting boundaries for our adult child while loving him unconditionally.
